Actually this digital Christmas card was something we have been wanting to work on for a while. The first step was getting the snow to stick to the logo. The basics came from the blog C4DAvenue Tutorials, but we quickly needed to morph this process in order to fit our concept.
Next, the ornaments and snowglobe were modeled. Once you have the shape in Cinema 4D you are able to drop different materials and colors onto the object. We found the coolest aspect was the look of the refraction that was added to the "transparency" material of the glass globe.
For a holiday atmosphere we added a shallow depth of field and a few Magic Bullet looks from Red Giant Software in After Effects.
There were just a few more steps involved...including a bit of dynamics and some collider objects. But, we would rather keep the magic of the holidays alive. Merry Christmas from the Joyco staff!
